How is the facelift procedure performed?
During the pre-operative (before surgery) initial consultation a skilled plastic surgeon will look at your hairline and facial structure to decide where incisions will be made. The incisions will be made along the natural creases of the skin, making the incisions not visible. During the facelift procedure the surgeon separates the skin and muscles from the facial tissues. Depending on the severe case of the patient Dr. Sajjadian tightens the muscles of the face then removes the excess skin. Tightening the muscles of the face helps bring the muscles back up to their original place creating a more youthful appearance.

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010What is a Facelift and why people under go facelift procedure?
As people get older their faces start to produce signs of aging. A facelift can help rejuvenate the facial appearance. Injectables and fillers are no substitute for a facelift. As we age our face starts to sag because the facial muscles and skin lose its elasticity and strength. A facelift can help improve the appearance by correcting deep creases below the lower eyelids, deep creases that start from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth known as nasolabial folds, loose skin, and fatty deposits. To see if you are a good candidate for a facelift procedure, an experience plastic surgeon will examine your facial bone structure, underlying skin structure, thickness of the skin, elasticity, wrinkles, and folds to better understand your body’s make up. Dr. Sajjadian has passion for this procedure. His philosophy is to create a natural looking result that look un-operated. We know how to give you the best results possible to achieve a younger looking you after examining the structure of your face.
“Side effects of non-surgical Nose Jobs”
Monday, August 30th, 2010You should be very careful before letting anyone place fillers in your nose. The material is not FDA-approved for use in the nose.
Placing fillers in the nose can be very tempting. However, it has caused a number of very unfortunate side-effect such as skin loss, permanent deformities and aggressive infections.
Unless you are ready to deal with a permanent and irreversible problem, you should avoid having fillers placed in your nose.
The advantages of undergoing rasping of the hump include the permanent nature of it while reducing the size of the nose (not increasing the size of the nose with fillers).
Please see the article below that was published this year in the most prominent Plastic Surgery Journal which reviews some of these unfortunate outcomes.
Hope this was helpful.

How to decide on your Rhinoplasty Surgeon
Monday, August 30th, 2010One of your main goals when considering rhinoplasty should be to determine your surgeon’s level of experience, skill and comfort with the rhinoplasty procedure.
1. you want to feel that your surgeon is passionate about rhinoplasty.
2. you want to get a good gut feeling about his sense of aesthetics and beauty.
3. make sure that he has had extensive training, exposure, and commitment to excellence in performing this procedure.
4. Ideally they should belong to ASAPS, Rhinoplasty Society and ASPS.
5. Your surgeon should spend adequate time evaluating your nose, be attentive and a good listener and give you feedback on your expectations form the rhinoplasty procedure.
Last but not least after reviewing his before and after pictures with your surgeon, ask for some previous patients’ contact information so you can talk with them.
In summary, you want to feel that your surgeon cares about you and cares about creating the best and most natural result you can possibly have.
